Specifications for THE GD-700 GENERAL DUTY/TACTICAL HELMET
SHELL The half-coverage shell is constructed of Arimid Fiber Reinforced Thermo Plastic Composite utilizing high pressure compression molding for increased strength while maintaining a light weight helmet. The visor is an integral part of the shell. The shell edge is finished with a tough molded trim. Shell shall be painted to department specifications. Complete helmet with shield shall not exceed 2.8 lbs. LINER The impact liner is constructed of expanded polystyrene (EPS). Liner will have a minimum thickness of 3/4” in test plane area to provide maximum impact energy attenuation. The EPS liner is covered by a vented brush nylon material that is bonded to a multi-density foam for comfort and durability. This material provides maximum wicking of perspiration away from the user’s head to allow for the most cooling to the wearer. SIZES Size Range 6 3/4” to 8 1/8”. The liquid seal is affixed so to prevent a passage of liquids from the helmet dome face shield onto the inner shield surface when shield is in down position. Shield mounts directly to helmet using a shield hardware system (Hardware Part No. TA-922-HDW). The shield mounting system is designed and affixed to be mounted to the helmet with metal screws and shield to install to mounting blocks with a thumbscrew for hand adjustment that will lock shield in desired position. Shield hardware is designed for maximum shear strength. The mounting position is designed to accommodate most gas masks behind shield when in down position.
